Feel like you need to talk?

My name’s Peter, I’m a counsellor, and I offer an open-minded, confidential space where you can reflect on what’s happening right now, find clarity in what’s happened in the past, and figure out what things might look like moving forward. We can meet in east London or online.

Who I work with

I work with clients from a wide range of backgrounds, working in-person (in Hackney, east London), as well as via Zoom. With a background in media and music, I’m attuned to issues that can come up in those areas, and take a special interest in working with musicians and people in the music and broader creative industries — more on that here.

My credentials

My qualifications include a PGDip in Integrative Counselling and Coaching plus training in areas like couple and relationship therapy, motivational interviewing and transformational coaching, plus CPD in topics such as grief, perfectionism, domestic abuse, suicide, gender and sexuality conflicts, and trans awareness.

Fees, locations, and everything else

I’ve put together an FAQ which I hope covers everything. You can also drop me a line on hello@peterrobinsontherapy.com, or click here to find out more about what happens when you contact me.

How I work

When you work with me you’ll have space and freedom to talk openly about what your hopes for counselling are, what’s going on in your life, and what’s on your mind.

A strong, collaborative relationship is at the heart of good counselling work. So my goal is to create, with you, a comfortable therapeutic environment where your preferences for therapy are built into our work. I hope the space we create — whether it’s in person or online — is one where you’ll feel supported, heard, and understood.

I work integratively which means I’m able to draw on a range of therapeutic modalities, including person-centred, psychodynamic and existential therapies, along with CBT and acceptance and commitment therapy. If you don’t know what any of this means, well, neither did I when I was looking for my first therapist — I’ll be happy to talk it all through with you.

I can also bring coaching into our work. Not everyone wants or needs this, but it does mean that in addition to being able to work on finding clarity in your past and present, I can also help you look at what comes next.
