Feel like you need to talk?

My name’s Peter, I’m a counsellor, and through therapy I offer an open-minded, confidential space where you can reflect on what’s happening, find clarity in what’s happened, and figure out what things might look like moving forward. We can meet in east London or online.

Who I work with

My clients come from a wide range of backgrounds and face a diverse array of challenges.

With a professional background in media and music, I’m attuned to issues that can come up in those areas, and take a special interest in working with musicians and people in the music and broader creative industries. More on that here.

My credentials

I’m a registered member of the BACP; I’m also a BAPAM registered practitioner and a member of the Music Industry Therapist Collective.

My qualifications include a PGDip in Integrative Counselling and Coaching and a diploma in Attachment Based Psychotherapy, plus training in areas like couple and relationship therapy, motivational interviewing and transformational coaching, plus CPD in topics such as grief, perfectionism, trauma, domestic abuse, toxic online culture, suicide, gender and sexuality conflicts and trans awareness.

How I work

A strong relationship is at the heart of good therapy so my goal is to create, with you, a comfortable environment where your preferences are accommodated. I hope the space we create — whether in person or online — is one where you’ll feel supported, heard, and understood.

I draw on person-centred, psychodynamic and existential therapies, weaving in attachment-based psychotherapy, CBT and acceptance and commitment therapy. (If you don’t know what any of this means, neither did I when I was looking for my first therapist — I’ll be happy to talk it all through with you.) I can also bring coaching into our sessions, so as well as finding clarity in your past and present, you can also look at what comes next.

We can meet in-person (I work in Shoreditch, east London), or via Zoom.

Fees, locations, and everything else

I hope my FAQ covers everything but do drop me a line on hello@peterrobinsontherapy.com or using the form on this page with any questions.
